Rams vs. Buccaneers live updates: Score, highlights, TV info for SNF

The NFC playoff race comes into focus as the Sunday slate of Week 12 wraps up.

Matthew Stafford's Los Angeles Rams welcome Baker Mayfield's Tampa Bay Buccaneers into SoFi Stadium for a "Sunday Night Football" clash between two teams headed in opposite directions. The Rams are coming off a key win over the rival Seattle Seahawks, moving into a tie for the NFC's top seed.

The same can't be said for the visiting Bucs, who have dropped two straight and three of the last four. Injuries have been a major storyline for Tampa all season, having lost Bucky Irving, Mike Evans, Chris Godwin and more for extended periods of time.

They'll look to get healthier in time for the postseason, but they have to get there first – especially as the Carolina Panthers make a playoff push of their own.

Neither team has much room for error as we head into the final stretch of the regular season. The Rams are trying to distance themselves in the loaded NFC West. The Bucs are simply trying to survive in a division they've owned for years.

A potential rematch could be on the horizon in just a few months, but someone will land the first punch on Sunday night in Hollywood.

USA TODAY Sports is providing live updates from "Sunday Night Football" in Week 12.

Halftime: Rams dominate the opening 30 minutes

Mayfield tossed up a prayer at the end of the first half, but it went unanswered. Emmanuel Forbes Jr. intercepted the pass, capping off a perfect half for the home team. LA is up big, 31-7, at the break and Tampa has more problems than the scoreboard indicates.

Mayfield was down again, holding his shoulder before walking off the field. Given the nature of the game and Tampa’s season, it’s a mystery how long the quarterback will be allowed to continue on Sunday night.

For the Rams, they scored on every possession they had and even picked up another seven on the pick-six in the first quarter. With a chance to jump into the top seed in the NFC, the Rams are leaving no doubt at
SoFi Stadium
.

Harrison Mevis height and weight

They don’t call him, “The Thiccer Kicker” for no reason. Mevis is a big guy, standing at 6-foot and weighing in at 245 points. He looks more like a linebacker than a kicker, but it works for Mevis and it’ll work for the Rams, as long as he continues to make field goals.

Rams-Buccaneers score: Harrison Mevis converts first career FG attempt

"The Thiccer Kicker” knocks through his first career field goal attempt from 40 yards to extend the LA lead. The former Missouri special teams star played in the UFL prior to making the jump over to the NFL. Mevis was signed to the practice squad on Nov. 5 before earning the spot on the active roster after Joshua Karty was made inactive. Rams 31, Buccaneers 7

Buccaneers turnover on downs

Tampa is down 21 nd the game is slipping away. The offense certainly played like that on a fourth-and-short, going for it needing two yards. Mayfield’s pass to Sterling Shepard falls incomplete, giving the Rams great field position to try and add to their lead.

Baker Mayfield injury update

Mayfield returned to the game and didn't miss a play for the Buccaneers' offense.

The team said that Mayfield was being evaluated for a left shoulder injury.

The passer was seen favoring his left arm and slammed his helmet down before entering the medical tent.

Rams-Buccaneers score: Davante Adams finds end zone for second TD

It's been all Rams, all night so far vs. the Buccaneers. Matthew Stafford has been surgical in this game, as evidenced by his three touchdowns, the third, a home-run ball to Davante Adams, who finds the end zone for his second of the night. Rams 28, Buccaneers 7
